Bode Museum Part I

sculpture

Time for my squareshoots from Bode Museum. The museum was designed by Erns von Ihne and completed in 1904. is one of the group of museums on the Museum Island in Berlin. Wilhelm von Bode was the first curator in this museum and for this reason building was renamed in his honour in 1956. Neo-baroque architecture and place on the Spree river is very impressive. Erns von Ihne was a German architect which, his best works are: Prussian Royal Library in Berlin, Kawalera palace in Poland, Bode Museum or Neuer Marstall in Berlin. Wilhelm von Bode who believed in mixing art collections, appointed diersified collection with sculptures from Byzantium and Ravenna, sculptures of the Middle Ages, the Italian Gothic, and the early Renaissance. Also works represented by Tilman Riemenschneider, the south German Renaissance, and Prussian Baroque. We can be integrate with into the collection like a concept William von Bode in which sculptures, crafts, paintings are viewed together as in upper in upper middle-class private collections. Below are my a few squareshoots from museum interior.
