The Campbell Sisters

Lorenzo Bartolini
The Campbell Sisters dancing a Waltz (1821-1822)

My quick retrospection to my favourite sculptures from Scottish National Gallery. Sulpture by Lorenzo Bartolini is the most important piece of Italian sculpture carved for a Scottish patron in the nineteenth century. The Capbell sisters – Emma and Julia showing marvelous artistic job by Bartolini, tip-toe poses, details of draperies are the best example of his craft. I absolutely fell in love with their graceful that comes from delicate ”moves” of marble sculpture… Please check out my all photos below, I focused on a divers perspectives, figures still dancing and talking… I’m sure that you’ll notice their dynamic around all visitors at the gallery 🙂
