PUFF SLEEVE

puffed sleevesWelcome all of you after my break blogging! Hope that New Year will brings to me more inspiration, time and energy for new creative posts 🙂 Today I want to show you my love for puff sleeves, I’m also a big fun of old school in fashion and designs from XX or XXI cetury. That’s why I want to present you unique fashion projects from XIX century to present times. The puff sleeve emerged in the Renaissance, but its popularity would ebb and flow even past the Edwardian age. The puff sleeves were either a short ¾ length or full length sleeves gathered at the top or bottom. The puffed sleeve was a hyper feminine style that would go through many transformations. But  How were the puffs achieved? The sleeves would be lined with stiffened fabric. I chose some examples which you’ll find below.

I like the scene in Anne Of Green Gables movie about puff sleeve – I’m a big fun of this humorous and poignant story, please watch my attachment below from movie directed by Kevin Sullivan. Second half of the XIXth century, Avonlea on Prince Edward Island (fictional town) and need to own spectacular puff sleeves 🙂 My version of puff sleeves is more subtle than example from Anne 😀 I’ve chosen beige suit and golden accesories. Below you will find also one of my favoruite modern projects like coat by Jean Charles de’ Castelbajac or top by Hardy Amies with puff sleeves motive.

Hello! Today I want to show You my inspirations from last months. I really love vintage Vogue covers, so in this post I presents my favourite vogue covers from 50’s,60’s and 70’s! In this post I emphasize my love for unique earrings. You can find my propositions above 😉 I distinguished Tiffany & Co, Marni, Chanel, Parfois, Kayo Sait, Yves Saint Laurent and Isabel Marant. In my opinion these types of earrings are the best option for showing essence 60’s or 70’s. I love earrings with different shapes and textures. My photos was inspired by my favourite vintage vogue covers. Marked contrast and vintage’s make up is definitely what I adore.

Märchenbrunnen

marchenbrunnen 1913

POSTCARD FROM 1913

I want to stell You about very magical place in the Volkspark Friedrichshain in Berlin. The Märchenbrunnen – it’s just fountain of fairy tales. Unfortunately off spring-summer season we can’t see all beautiful sculptures in the Park but summer times will be the most convenient term for visit this place. The fountain of fairy tales designed by german architect Ludwig Hoffmann. He was very popular architect in Germany, also he designed important buildings in Berlin like: Märkisches Museum, with Alfred Messel the built version of the Pergamon Museum, Altes Stadthaus and much more. More over he was an author of many bridges, fountains or private villas. The main part of this complex are one large and nine small fountains. If You will here in sunny season all sculptures will expose for visitors. We can see there fairy tale characters like frogs, turles, Puss in boots, Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty and much more which are made of sandstone and limestone. All sculptures was created by Georg Vrba. Very impressive are sculptures above the arcade, there is a complete gallery with animal’s sculptures from folk history and literary tales. One of the interesting fact is a situation when sculptures dissappeared after Word War II. Foud them in 1950 behind a high wall of one of the gardens (Friedrichshain) Unlickily sculptures were in a damaged condition. Photo below.

When it comes about fashion I chose polka dots! In my opinion polka dots are so timeless in fashion for every woman. Also I love puffed sleeves and combinations with puffed sleeves and polka dots is bull’s-eye! It’s a Tie-front blouse and we can we can tie a bow or knot. Further I have my old friend- classic black coat. My frosting on the cake is a small bag with a embroidered red flowers. Her shape is really interesting.
